The Commonwealth Lawyers Association, in collaboration with NIVAARAN, is organizing the 5th edition of the Soli Sorabjee Memorial Lecture today, on 14th April, 2026, in New Delhi. This distinguished annual event honors the legacy of Sh. Soli Jehangir Sorabjee, one of India’s most respected jurists and a lifelong advocate for constitutional values and human rights.
The 5th Soli Sorabjee Lecture will be delivered by Justice P. S. Narasimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India, on the compelling theme “Human Rights in the Empire of Artificial Intelligence.” The topic highlights the growing global concern of how rapid advancements in the field of artificial intelligence are reshaping the legal landscape and challenging traditional notions of rights, accountability, and governance.
The event will take place at the India International Centre. Scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM IST (2:00 PM BST), the lecture will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person attendance and virtual participation via live streaming.
The 5th Soli Sorabjee Memorial Lecture shall begin with the opening remarks by Supreme Court Advocate Siddarth Sijoria, followed by reflections on Sh. Soli Sorabjee’s legacy from leading legal figures including Advocates Jaideep Gupta and Vikas Singh. The introduction of the keynote speaker will be delivered by Advocate Nandini Gore, Secretary of NIVAARAN and Senior Partner at Karanjawala & Co.
The event will conclude with remarks from Advocate Rajiv Dutta, Vice-President of NIVAARAN, followed by a vote of thanks.
