Call for Papers: National Capital Law Journal (NCLJ), Vol. XXIII (Submit by 15th May, 2026)

The National Capital Law Journal (NCLJ) has issued a call for papers for its Volume XXIII (2024). The blind peer-reviewed journal published annually by Law Centre-II, invites original, unpublished manuscripts that may address any contemporary area in the field of law and legal education, covering both national and international issues across all branches of law and legal policy. Academicians and legal professionals based in India and abroad may ensure submissions till 15th May, 2026.  

Submission Categories 

Manuscripts are accepted under four categories: 

1. Long Articles (8,000–10,000 words, including footnotes) 

These submissions are expected toprovide a sustained and comprehensive analysis of a specific legal topic, identify existing gaps orlacunae, and propose solutions. 

2. Short Articles (4,000–6,000 words, including footnotes) 

Short articles are intended forfocused analysis of a narrower legal issue, addressed from a fresh critical perspective. 

3. Legislative/Case Comments (2,000–3,000 words, including footnotes) 

This category coversconcise critical appraisals of recent judicial decisions, newly enacted or proposed legislation, orpolicy reform proposals. 

4. Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words, including footnotes) 

Book reviews must offer a criticalevaluation of a legal text, combining substantive analysis with scholarly assessment of thework's contents, arguments, and contribution. 

Authorship and Co-authorship 

  • Submissions are open to academicians and legal professionals only
  • Co-authorship of up to one co-author is permitted for Long Articles and Short Articles
  • Co-authorship is not permitted for Legislative/Case Comments or Book Reviews
  • Author names and institutional affiliations must not appear anywhere in the manuscript to maintain the integrity of the blind review process 

Additional Conditions 

  • Submissions must be accompanied by a declaration confirming that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration at any other journal, conference, or publication. The manuscript must not be submitted elsewhere while under review with NCLJ.
  • Plagiarism in any form will result in disqualification.
  • Copyright over all published material vests exclusively with Law Centre-II, University of Delhi.
  • All submissions will be subject to editorial review.
