CCI Approves Adani Power’s Acquisition of GVK Energy

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of 100% share capital of GVK Energy Limited by Adani Power Limited. The approval was announced in a press release issued on May 12, 2026. 

About the Companies Involved 

GVK Energy Limited was established as a subsidiary of GVK Power and Infrastructure Ltd. The company, through its subsidiary AHPL, operates a 330 MW hydroelectric power project in Srinagar, Uttarakhand. Operations and maintenance services for the project are provided by the target company. 

Adani Power Limited is the acquiring entity in the transaction.
