CCI Approves DWS Group's Acquisition of Stake in Nippon Life India AIF Management

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved a proposed combination involving the acquisition of certain shareholding in Nippon Life India AIF Management Limited by DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA. 

The proposed combination envisages the acquisition of certain shareholding in the target company by DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA. 

Parties to the Transaction

DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA, the acquirer, is an asset manager with a global presence. It offers investment solutions and portfolios to individuals, institutions, and large corporations across a range of investment disciplines. 

Nippon Life India AIF Management Limited 

Nippon Life India AIF Management Limited, the target company, is engaged in: 

• Alternative asset management.
• Acting as an investment manager and/or sponsor, as applicable, to Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). 

The company is also registered with SEBI as a co-investment portfolio manager.
