Go Digit Infoworks Services amalgamation with Go Digit General Insurance gets CCI Approval

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the amalgamation of Go Digit Infoworks Services Private Limited (Infoworks), the holding company of Go Digit General Insurance Limited (Digit General), with Go Digit General Insurance Limited. Following the amalgamation, Go Digit General Insurance Limited will be the surviving entity.
Proposed Combination
According to the CCI, the proposed combination involves the merger of Infoworks into Digit General. As part of the transaction, Infoworks will cease to exist as a separate entity, while Digit General will continue as the surviving company.
Fairfax Group's Involvement
The Competition Commission of India states that FAL is a private company limited by shares incorporated in Mauritius. It functions as an investment holding company focused on making long-term investments in diversified businesses across Asia, including India, and holds a Global Business Licence issued by the Financial Commission of Mauritius.
It further states that FAL does not carry out any other business activities in India or globally. FAL is part of the Fairfax group, whose ultimate parent entity, Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, is a holding company primarily engaged, through its subsidiaries, in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, and associated investment management.

Infoworks is a private limited company incorporated in India. According to the CCI, it is not currently engaged in any market-facing business activity either in India or outside the country.
Digit General is a public limited company incorporated in India. It is engaged in providing various types of general and health insurance products and services in India, with a specialized focus on general insurance.
