Kerala Public Service Commission Publishes Probability List for Lower Division Typist Post

The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) issued a notification on May 22, 2025, which was subsequently published in the Kerala Gazette on June 3, 2025, detailing the Probability List for candidates provisionally eligible for selection to the post of Lower Division Typist (By Transfer) in the Kerala Water Authority. This notification, identified as PL. No. 1/2025/ROD., follows the Common OMR Examination conducted on August 30, 2024, for Category No. 250/2023. The list comprises register numbers of candidates who have been found provisionally eligible for inclusion in the final Ranked List, pending the mandatory verification of their original documents. The post carries a pay scale of ₹ 27200-73600. The notification listed eight candidates in the Main List, bringing the total number of candidates in this Probability List to eight.

The register numbers are presented in numerical sequence, and this arrangement does not reflect their respective ranks based on the examination. Candidates whose numbers appear on this list are required to attend the verification of original documents, with the schedule for this process to be announced in due course. The KPSC clarified that the inclusion of register numbers in this list is strictly provisional, subject to thorough scrutiny and the absolute admission of their applications. The notification explicitly stated that the list was prepared by including candidates who secured 40% or above marks in the OMR Test.

The notification underscored the provisional nature of the list, stating: “Inclusion of Register Numbers in this list is purely provisional subject to scrutiny and admission of application on absolute basis. Inclusion of Register numbers in the Probability List does not confer any right on the candidate for inclusion in the Ranked List.” It further specified that the Probability List was compiled based on the details provided by candidates in their applications, and no subsequent claims would be entertained at any stage. The Commission reserves the right to reject a candidate's application at any point in the selection process if any submitted documents are found to be defective. Candidates on the Probability List must personally present their original documents for a One Time Verification (OTR), with the date, time, and venue to be communicated via profile message and SMS alerts.

This notification serves to advance the transparent and structured recruitment process for government service positions, ensuring that only qualified individuals proceed to the final stages of selection. The underlying policy rationale is to maintain fairness and adherence to established selection criteria, which includes a minimum qualifying mark in the OMR examination and subsequent verification of credentials. While revaluation of answer scripts is not permitted under existing procedures, candidates will have the option to recheck their answer scripts after the publication of the Ranked List, with detailed instructions to be provided at that time. The notification also mandates that candidates included in the Probability List produce a latest Service Certificate in the format prescribed in the Gazette Notification, alongside other necessary documents, during the original document verification. For those whose register numbers were invalidated, reference was directed to Notification No. ERIVB1/19/2024-KPSC dated December 23, 2024. Copies of answer scripts from the OMR Test will be made available to applicants upon payment of the prescribed fee, following the approval of the Ranked List.
