President Appoints 14 Judicial Officers as Judges and Additional Judges in Four High Courts

The President of India has appointed 14 judicial officers as Judges and Additional Judges of various High Courts, following consultation with the Chief Justice of India. The Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced the appointments in X post, stating that the appointments were made in exercise of the powers conferred by the Constitution of India. 

The appointments include: 

Delhi High Court 

• Judges: Smt. Nivedita Anil Sharma and Smt. Nisha Sahay Saxena.
• Additional Judges: Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Dr. (Smt.) Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj. 

Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court 

• Judge: Yash Paul Bourney. 

Jharkhand High Court 

• Judges: Manoj Prasad, Akhil Kumar and Ram Sharma. 

Karnataka High Court 

• Additional Judges: Smt. Usharani, K.S. Bharath Kumar and Smt. Nerala V. Bhavani. 

The appointments cover four High Courts and include both permanent and additional judicial positions. The Supreme Court Collegium had vide official statement dated 10th September 2026 had recommended elevation of 15 Judicial Officers to 4 High Courts.
