President Appoints Three Additional Judges to Karnataka High Court

The President of India has appointed three judicial officers as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court. The Ministry of Law and Justice communicated the appointment vide a press release dated 29th May 2026.
3 New Karnataka High Court Judges
The three officers appointed are:
- Smt. Rajeshwari Narayana Hegde appointed as Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office, until her retirement on superannuation on 17th March 2028.
- Smt. Kedambadi Ganesh Shanthi appointed as Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date she assumes charge of her office.
- Shri Brungesh Mahadevappa appointed as Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Background of the Appointees
Smt. Rajeshwari Narayana Hegde previously served as Principal District and Sessions Judge, Davanagere, Karnataka. Smt. Kedambadi Ganesh Shanthi served as Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ballari. Shri Brungesh Mahadevappa served as Chief Judge of the Small Causes Court at Bengaluru Urban Courts.
The Supreme Court Collegium had earlier approved the proposal for their appointment as Karnataka High Court Judges vide official statement dated 14th April, 2026.
