Railways Ministry Amends Land Details in Acquisition Notification

The Ministry of Railways, North Western Railway (Construction Organization), issued a Corrigendum Notification on February 28, 2025, from Jaipur. This instrument, designated S.O. 1067(E), was promulgated in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008), and the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). The legislation provided: “The following details shall be amended and substituted in the Notification No. SO 5065(E) Jaipur Gazette ID CG-RJ-A-20122024-259543 dated 18th December 2024 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3- Subsection-II.” This meticulous correction is vital for preventing potential disputes, ensuring fair compensation, and facilitating the smooth implementation of railway infrastructure projects. For instance, the total area of land to be acquired in Manheru village was corrected from 8.314 hectares to 8.051 hectares, reflecting the importance of precise measurements in such notifications.
